By downloading or using UnPlugged LM you agree to these terms. Please read them. They are written in plain language — no legal tricks.

1. About UnPlugged LM

UnPlugged LM ("the app") is developed by SmartDataIQ (unpluggedlm.com). The app provides on-device AI chat, document analysis (RAG), and an optional local AI server — all running privately on your device without any cloud dependency.

2. Licence to use

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to install and use UnPlugged LM on devices you own or control, subject to these terms and the rules of the platform you downloaded it from (Apple App Store or Google Play).

You may not:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app or any part of it
Remove or alter any copyright or proprietary notices
Use the app to build a competing product without written permission

3. AI-generated content

UnPlugged LM runs open-weight language models locally on your device. The app does not control, curate, or moderate the output of these models. You are responsible for how you use AI-generated responses.

Do not rely on AI output for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions without verification from a qualified professional
AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated
The models you download are subject to their own licences (e.g. Meta Llama Community Licence, Google Gemma Terms) — you are responsible for complying with those licences

4. Pro — in-app purchase

UnPlugged LM offers an optional one-time upgrade called "UnPlugged LM Pro" (currently $9.99 USD). When you purchase Pro:

The purchase is processed by Apple or Google — not by us
The purchase is non-consumable and permanent: it is tied to your Apple ID or Google account and can be restored on any device you own
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective refund policies — we do not issue refunds directly
Pro features are delivered as software updates to the app. New Pro features may be added over time at no additional cost
If Apple or Google removes the app from their store, you retain access on devices where it is already installed but cannot re-download it

5. Local AI Server (Pro)

The Local AI Server feature opens a network port on your device. By enabling this feature you accept that:

Any device on your local Wi-Fi network may be able to reach the server — you are responsible for setting an access code and using the feature only on trusted networks
We are not responsible for any unauthorised access that results from using the server on an unsecured or public network
The server must not be used to serve content that is illegal, harmful, or in violation of these terms

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use UnPlugged LM to:

Generate content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, or discriminatory
Circumvent the security or access controls of any system
Process data belonging to others without their consent
Violate any applicable law or regulation

7. Intellectual property

The UnPlugged LM app, its design, branding, and all original code are the intellectual property of SmartDataIQ. The underlying inference engine (llama.cpp) is open-source software licensed under the MIT licence. AI model weights you download are owned by their respective creators and are subject to their own licences.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

UnPlugged LM is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SmartDataIQ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages arising from AI-generated content — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for UnPlugged LM Pro (or $0 if you are on the free tier).

10. Changes to the app and terms

We may update the app or these terms at any time. Material changes to the terms will be communicated via an in-app notice or an update to the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

We reserve the right to discontinue features (including Pro features) with reasonable notice. If a Pro feature is permanently removed, we will make reasonable efforts to offer a comparable replacement or partial refund at our discretion.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
